Life-size pair of green and red onyx turned polished vases, the rolling rims above slender baluster form terminating in circular bases. The onyx vases are carved from single blocks of highly figured onyx marble. Primarily rich green emerald colors with hundreds of alternating banded veins. Half hollowed out to be used as functional or decorative vases indoors or outdoors.
Onyx, is a translucent, semi-precious gemstone. It belongs to the mineral family of marble but it is distinguished by its delicate, beautiful colors and shades. The multicolored surface of the stone creates a natural pattern of color and hue which makes every individual piece a one of a kind.
Onyx is a banded variety of Calcite. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color except shades of purple, blue and black.
