Code: 10493
Dimensions:
A Chinese side table with a pleasing distressed red and black lacquer finish to the top and interesting carved motif to front and back, with quasi faux bamboo detail to legs, frieze rails and stretchers. The top shows evidence of a central rectangular bordererd black lacquer image (possibly of trees??) but very distressed, so hard to make out. Very heavy, so probably Hongmu timber (red wood), c 1910.
Restoration / condition: Showing hard wear to the top surface which shows evidence of original red and black lacquer with the legs and stretchers showing the grain of the timber breaking through red / orange lacquer.
